Failure At Its Best

Gripping the pillows tight
Another pointless fight
The reality setting in
She's failed once again

Tears that constantly flow,
but to you they will never show

Lonesome in a crowd
Lost and never found
Gritting her teeth until her gums bleed
Unable to express what it is she needs

Boy, open your eyes
As her spirit slowly dies

Unspeakable fears consume her mind,
but you hardly have the time
She doesn't feel good enough for you,
and there is nothing she can do

Holding back a scream,
but putting on a smile, because nothing is what it seems

This is what we call failure at its best
A heart that will never rest
Words she cannot say
She is holding out for one more day
