A whispering within the gloom
a scratch upon the door
Whilst locked inside an enclosed room
A hand creeps on the floor.
It has no arm attached to it
but fingers still extend
They tap and scrape to where you sit
and make you're knee joints bend.
A fearful feeling fills you're head
and yet you cannot scream
as sheets are dragged from off the bed
and torture reigns supreme.
You feel a shaking to your boots
as teeth rattle with fear
Your hair stands up from tip to roots
as hand gets ever near.
An index finger touches you
as you jump in the air
It sticks to you as if it's glue
and fills you with despair.
As teardrops fall upon the bed
you see mum's face appear
the nightmare is inside your head
There's nothing more to fear.
