Windy day in Ely

swans swirl on the water

train vivid across the fen

he stands under the weeping willow
a vicious wind sailing his violin notes
to skitter along the path

the opened case overturns but he will not stop
the tune so imperative

from the river cruise
they crane to watch
as their guide is unshaken

visitors from Japan point their cameras
he is focused

the swans swirl on the water
clouds rush

so still he holds the last note
and the space beyond
