Blissful Ignorance (My Life For Yours Saga XII)

"My life for yours indeed, my dear one
He spared us our lives, and now we can live true
Truly our love, has truly begun
Our love has survived, and now is made anew.

I would have given my life for you
For life without you would be hard to endure
You are my life, you are the glue
That keeps me together, keeps me secure.

Oh love, and light, and beauty of mine
Make no more promises, no more deals with he
That spites our love, because his heart is benign
He know love not of any degree."

"What deal, my love, would I now make,
My heart is content, with what I have now
And with this love, I shall never forsake
You, or our love, this I avow.

It's like a dream, I want not to awake
To be here forever, in your loving embrace
My deal with Death, it was a mistake
But speak not of it, it was a different time, and place."

And so the two lovers, this way conversed
Sharing their love, and loving their new time
They did not know that they were coerced
That this was their twilight, this was their prime.

Ignorance is bliss, so many has said
And thus in this case, it is proven true
They lived the moment, did not look ahead
And instead of one taken, Death will take two.

But that was still moments, and moments away
And lifetimes away, or so they both thought
Death gave his word, they can love as they may
And neither the wiser for what they have wrought.

Author notes

A rhyme. A teaser placed in, as the Saga continues. The lovers converse, then their situation is told to the reader. What is next for the two?

and now i've come to part 12 again. It still leads the same impression, but i understand why now. Although it wasn't really that hard to understand. The whole saga is about love, death, and sacrifice. I thought the beginning was the most strong and the whole thing was good.

i liked this... it seemed sad,but hopeful, and desperately willing to stay in precious moments. i don't know how to properly explain how it felt to me,but it definitely gives the reader something to think about. a very good write.i think this is one poem i would just like to read over and over again.
