Thoughts of deep summer rain
and kissing you all night long
drift lazyly through my head.
My wrist curled around the empty
space where yours should be,
Always reminds me of what you
did to me.
The love I have for you beats
through my body,
Just like the sound of pouring
rain against tin metal.
My body aches for your arms
to wrap around me
and hold me in place mext to you.
Aching like the earth does for summer rain.
Sunshine smiling upon us
as we bake our pale bodies together
in the endlessness of Summerland,
Waiting, wishing, for deep summer rain.
These thoughts and feelings drifting
through my head while lightning
pops and crackles just outside my
window.
Our waiting and wishing is over now, my love.
There's only one problem: You left me.
So I turn my head away of from the memories
and from the rain.
And along with our deep summer rain,
I finally turn away from you.
