From Mother To Daughter

My Dearest Baby,

From the day I learned you were growing inside me,
My heart has grown with more love than I have ever known.
I was scared, just as any teenage mother is,
But I was happy to have my very own bundle of joy
To love, raise, and share with this world.
Each day, my love grows for you more and more.
I will never forget hearing your little heartbeat for the first time.
Eight weeks and one day old,
I saw your tiny blurred figure,
And I heard that wonderful, fast heartbeat.
And I wished more than anything to have had the chance
To share that experience with your father.
The first time he caught sight of you,
We were both overcome with joy,
And we learned you are a beautiful and healthy girl.
It was that day, that you decided to give him the chance,
And he felt you kick for the first time.
The first time I felt you move,
Felt like butterflies all over again.
It made me so happy to feel your existence inside my stomach.
Every little nudge fills my heart with love,
And makes me so happy to have you.
I wait for the day I can hold you in my arms,
But I know that I will miss the feeling and knowledge
Of you in my stomach and being a part of me.
Each day, as you grow more and more, little by little,
I love you more and more.
God has blessed me in many ways,
But the best blessing has yet to come.
My life will be fulfilled when you are brought into this world,
To complete my heart and give me a greater reason.

Thank you, Lord, for blessing me with this beautiful child,
And with the man I love, and the family we will form.
