God

I am shocked by this world God created.
How can I believe in you, when it’s all so tainted.
How can I see that there is more than pain,
When wherever I look, I see the same.
Misery, anger, hurt and shame,
Chaining the afraid, locking them in pain.
Secrets so deep, keeping them sad,
Knowing and seeing only bad.
If you do exist, then show your face,
Take away the sadness that taints this place.
Speak the words so long never spoken,
As your tears fall heavy on this world so broken.
Just a sign God is all I ask.
Just a whisper of truth, even if it is your last.
Give me a hope, so long over due.
Can you not see, if you are real God, I need you.

  • i loved the ending to this piece.
it is hard to believe in God sometimes.
many people feel like you do. i can't tell
you how much your last two lines has touched
a soft spot in my heart. i believe there is a God,
a loving and caring God, and he is in everything that
is beautiful in life, in this world. i see God in every
sunset, i heard his whiper in the flow of water under
a waterfall. i see God in the reflection of my beautiful
grand-daughters eyes. i hear him in the laughter of the
kids that play outside my window. there is a God and he
lives in your heart, but you just have to let him out, you
just have to believe, have faith, just a tiny bit is all it
takes. i read your front page and i see that you believe in
angels, so do i, they are all around you, they got you this
far and they'll help you to continue on. again i enjoyed
your poem very much. i think i have found a new friend
in you, or at least i hope so.
