Sol Sank

Sol sank slowly
setting the sky ablaze
with flames licking through clouds
and embers glowing bright yellow, orange, and red
surrounded by whisps of cloud where smoke should be

Sol sank
mountaintops became torches
as bright yellows escaped from their peaks
mountain faces faded black as though consumed

Sol sank
briliant embers faded into ashen clouds
then blackened as charred
and the peace of night settled over the water

Freeverse description of the fabulous show God put on during my evening bike ride. Here it is in picture: https://gktqgw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pRsUOlWgi7unFuQ0Th4OhbbZYBk29AILQ2AbSkSX7Tt4YESGFEpY-JYSyJrvKEVcKkKPwPkFCvb5WHBuHRu0WInAw8SR843sO/DSC01613.jpg

The picture is nice, but you should have seen it on the original wide screen!

Steven, the sunset over the water is absolutely gorgeous and I can see it in your poem even without the photo. Beautiful art!... and I love the peace. I live where there are sometimes colors like that in the evening sky, too, where the water and mountains looks that way as the sun goes down. It never fails to move my heart with its majesty.

Thank your for sharing your evening reverie! It's lovely, indeed!

    Be blessed.
