The squeaking creature climbs aboard the night
The squealing wheel punctures the atmosphere,
As little ebony eyes watch dawn turn away
Sleepy sight is renewed for the dark--
A delicate nose pierces the tired air.
Soft whiskers scrape the dish
Nimble paws creeping up bars,
The moonlight shares its halo
With the cutest angel
Coated in satin and bronze.

i had one of those long haired hamsters when i was younger...lol
It was written with such elegance ..I immediately thought of a cat......

oh my!!! Im so glad you did a hamster, i have one and their one a my favorite animals too. Just because they're small doesn't mean theyre dull. i NEVER would have got this till i read the reviews below. But when i DID I was like "ahhh! thats it". very well written and excellent imagery, this was great!!!gl in my contest
