I missed many days of my fourth grade year due to cancer
Boys and girls made fun
I was not as advance as they were
My mother had a heat condition
Dad could not read or write
He was very smart, he could look at a book and build the exact copy
Cancer was like airing out dirty laundry
The one teacher had a women come in and work with me
I loved to make up stories about a picture
Deep down I always knew I could not measure up
My mother gave me the gift of reading
I can remember her saying I know you better then she does
Still to this day I love to write,do many other art hobbies
That what my 6th grade, focus on what I could
She did not set her standards lower
I felt like a person not a disability
She will always be in my heart
Seventh grade art teacher discover my passion for art
When I got bored she make me do a harder project
She even set it to Lincoln to be judged
I got a blue ribbon
That day I thought, I was 6 feet not 5 foot high
Each day I thank God for both of them
I only think of those teachers
Teacher if they care can leave a lasting memory
