If yonder tree could talk, t'would speak of you
And memories quite fond to recollect
About the boy you were and how you grew
Yet treated every leaf with due respect
T'would talk of how you loved the buds of May
And liked to climb aloft in branches strong
Of how when leaves would fall you'd sweep away
And how it watched you play in winters long
And if your tree could sounds and words create
I know by heart the night that it would tell
The night it cradled us upon its weight
And watched you carve our names 'neath Moonlight's spell
The tree of which has meant so much to thee
Now wears our love for all the world to see

HOW BEAUTIFUL!!! The concept is perfectly splendid on its own and the execution is marvelous. I love everything about it, the perfect meter, the phrasing. This is truly poetic and beautiful.

Aw thanks!! Its one of my favorites, moonlight tree-carving is indeed amazing, it gave me squeejoy to be able to do it. I just had to write a sonnet about it.
Glad you enjoyed!
