Midnight and I

The thick, black velvet sky
hugs tightly to the mountains,
the tiny jeweled stars
glittering like emerald eyes
embedded in the heavy drape of night
And the world plays out
a sweet melody of silence

And we dance

Our bare feet gliding gently
over the dust of the milky way
and the cheshire moon smiles sweetly,
giving off a muted diamond glow
that bathes the room
and leeches colourless ou skin
so we becom as pale
as a twinkle in a midnight eye

And we dance

The bright green numbers
flashing dully on the bedside table
sing out in the darkness,
reminding me that life is short
and we will freeze time
in the persuit of finding art in still life
And it is just midnight and I

And we dance
