Muster Out (Sen Kennedy) 8/25/09

Each scar his proclamation
newly into the next seige
Gladly into the frey
squires of every class and colour
Roaring Lion pennant
uplifted beheld by the downtrodden

Shield newly burnished
has fallen
Pike strong and true
has left my hand
Standard mounted in loyalty
lies tattered

Standing tall ready to serve
tear stained face
Battle proved heart
shattered beyond reckoning
Soul drown in sorrow
our leige has died

Whom will we follow....
Who will roar in his stead
He who marshalled
poor huddled masses
Screaming our rightousness
our liege is dead

    A great man.

He really lived up to the name that his father and brothers established. He would have probably beat out Carter for president, had it not been for that car wreck incident. Lovely sentiments.

  • The poem is well done. It is a fitting eulogy for a man you admired. Personally, the dark side of the Kennedy legacy is what stands out to me. Great job.

A wonderful piece of writing to honor a man so well deserving of your words.
He lived life to the fullest, right until the end. He is truly missed on the political scene and for the everyday people.

Love the words you chose and how you phrased them. Very well done

Odd, i was thinking just yesterday of the last time I saw the Senator, he was a very kind and considerate man in all of the dealings that I had with him, and his record i agree was a champion for the poor and underprivileged, so much the opposite of what government often stands for...lavishing riches upon the rich and well connected...a wonderful homage to an extraordinary man...PK
