lost in a sea of vanity,
trying to break free
of all teenage insanity.
wishing i could be older,
but young love leads me
to crying on a shoulder.
over dramatic friends,
what happens when we're
old and friendship ends?
reaching out for more life,
trying to keep off the stress
of a not yet woman's strife.
cut off from the real earth,
searching for a way to
find out what i'm worth.
trapped in a child's game,
but i'm the fool for
playing all the same.
Author notes
kind of how teenagers think they're really mature, and say they're above all of these petty things in highschool, but then just end up contradicting themselves by doing exactly what everyone else does; talk, trash, whatever. it's true.
