The Family of the Moon

A child comes to Earth
born of Night and Moon.
Their pride and love
is to this
wonderful star.

Her beauty is that of her mother,
her strength and mind from both,
but her greatness
is hers alone.

On this
her first visit
to her grandmother Earth
a protector was brought
to the earth.

His appearance is weakness
but it is his power;
a simple black cat
who seemed like a coward.

But his wisdom and might
are renowned;
he is Bagherra,
and he is her parents' crown.

The first proof of their might
but she is stronger yet;
for she is Love and Mercy.

So as the Moon and Night leave,
they know she is safe
as her Uncle Day
and her Aunt Sun
greet her.

Her parents hope
she will
give the love to Earth
and its children
that they have given her.
