Dark eyes stare into the abyss of night
And rooks shelter in the rafters
Darkness around the bringer of light
But no happy ever afters
The old halls creak and groan in slumber
And blood leaks from the walls
And he counts forever number
In his Darkened Hallowed Halls
Tears gently fall from eyes of fate
And endless life but eternal death
Walks in the shadow of tender hate
Upon the broken loveless Earth
A tree in the wind outside
The window glass is tapping
As in his despair he does abide
Around the darkness wrapping
He waits for the door to open softly
The voice to call to him there
Till then he'll drink and fall and sink
Into loveless, drunk despair
The house she groans like words unsaid
And the ghosts still cast their thoughts
Eternal life wishes to be dead
For all he has is nought
And the rooms seem longer and darker still
The light so far away
Ever sinking into his darkness
Will he see the light of day
The old halls creak and groan in slumber
And bloodstains smear the walls
He still counts forever number
In his Darkened Hallowed Halls
Please tell me what you think

Very nicely done, well rhymed, this is just a rhyme scheme away from a 4 octave Ottava Rima. Have you ever done that form? You should try it if you have not. I think you would do well with it... Scott
