donde la tierra está tierna
fresca con la vida te doy
mis arrugas ablandan
y tu sonrisa ascende
de las esquinas del piel.
el noche cae, rodeandonos
como gran cuervo
con estrellas en las alas.
te abrazo a mis senos,
beso tu cara de infanta
hasta los tulipanes suspiran
con el rocío de mañana
y tú amanezcas,
brillante con la luz
del día.
-
where the earth is tender
fresh with life i give you
my wrinkles become soft,
your smile ascends
from the corners of your skin.
nightfall surrounds us
like a great raven
with stars in its wings.
i hold you to my breasts,
kiss your infant face
until tulips sigh
with morning dew
and you dawn,
bright with the light
of day.

I can only understand the English version and I loved the thought portrayed .The first two lines are so sweet like honeyed nectar. The poem has a unique voice of its own. Thanks for sharing the gold is well deserved...

Sorry I didn't comment on this. I didn't understand all of the Spanish, but from what I could read, there was a beautiful silence and beauty about it, and that helped me form the other words. The English translation was amazing in itself, but of course you always lose something in a translation. I don't know. You're just a soft writer, no matter what the subject.

i agree with you. i find that often when translating one piece of creative writing into another language. it loses something and you know it does, but you can't quite explain what. there is soothing in your writing.
