Is there really life down here
in this festering abyss,
this black hole in a memory?
Time alone moves,
tick tock, tick, tock,
like a blinking light on a metal cloud.
Seconds pass.
tick, tock, tick, tock.
I wander through this Stygian dimension
lost for words,
a mouth cast in stone,
a mouth that once gurgled vomited words.
I hear your screams of silent agony.
Your screams won’t help you!
Your soul ends up in the same place,
hanging from a pinnacle,
pulpilating,
desperate to escape.
As I stride the earth,
I’m always here
looking for you.
Times running out,
tick, tock, tick, tock.

I plan to comment on this again, but first I wanted to point out that this poem has been added to the contest twice...
