She sits and licks her tiny paw
A cat must have unsighted laws
That tell them to behave just like they do.
I laugh at the way she utters a mew
For she is such a humorous friend.
She is always on the same cute trend.
She walks so silently around my house
Chasing a moth, a bird, or a mouse.
I loved her young, and I love her now
I enjoy hearing her meow.
I imitate back like a mockingbird,
But she acts as though she hasn't heard.
She was found inside the hood of a car
With a tiny scratch, now a tiny scar.
She's afraid of all things loud
And she's scared to be in a crowd.
I love her in spite of all her faults,
But sometimes I make her dance the waltz.
She takes naps, but is always sleepy.
To make friends she is very choosy.
I love to tease her and pet her too
But I doubt that she would like you.
She is stuck-up and sort of shy,
Quick too escape, and much too sly.
She's a lazy, slow, fat cat
When she's wet she looks like a rat.
But I love her when she purrs
And when she's happy she jabbers.
She's my best friend on this earth
And I love her more than she's worth!

Nice write. I love the way you have observed Heidi's habits and characteristics. You made me smile at the mention of dancing the waltz with her since I once had a cat I danced with. Nice memory of a lovely feline.
Thank you for entering my contest. -
