I don't know who I am
What shoes I take up today
My past caught up with me and I
I saw him dressed in black
Riding on the wind he came
For my soul to claim
Lost in the wilderness I roam
No love, no home
You know who you are
You know why I'm here
You watch from way afar
And swallow all your tears
Think I'd never come to you
Think I'd never care for you
But you know who you are
Yes you know who you are
I heard the song today on strings
And folk voices singing softly
And they called him back to my mind
He rode towards me from the trees
Eyes dark and beautiful
His heart beat sounded in my ears
Come to claim me for a purpose
I am here alone, waiting and lost
But you know who you are
And you know why I'm here
You wait patiently but do not show
Your face, your heart, your soul
I cannot see past his breaking heart
Nor touch those finger tips of energy
But you know who you are
Yes you know who you are
And he's calling you, he's calling you
Came for me and calling you
Please answer on the wind now
Please return his calls
I am lost my love, lost to hell
Take it, its yours
I don't know who I am today
Please tell me who I am
Please tell me what you think

This is such a mysterious poem, I'm left wondering who this man in black is, he a saviour or a very beautiful death himself? Is he a lost lover? so many things going on in my head right now. I'd love to know the inspiration behind this poem. Great work though, you have definitely left me dazed! Amazingly penned
