a final year
of new experiences
that still haven't become a daily routine
as there are still
so many new things each day
friendships formed over the years
hopefully will outlast
the time of separation
that is about to come
graduation day
the one thing I'm working towards
is approaching quickly
less than a year
until I will leave this place
where I spent my teenage years
will I ever come back
... as a visitor?
... as a teacher?
for now
I will savour each moment I have left
spend time with the people
that mean so much to me
overcome fears
and find answers
to questions that seem
unanswerable at first glance
and most of all
as long as _she_ is still there
each second will be worthwhile
Author notes
_she_; advisor, role model and so much more than just a Latin teacher
