Calm in his resolve
Scattered remains of the brave
Littering his mind.
God speed for those left alive
And for the dying he'll pray.
At peace, waging war
The sniper takes aim again
And takes down his prey.

this is a very grim but sad thought expressed here
war can be very inspirational... tanka was usually written as a song or love letter passed between friends and lovers...emotions expressed in the moment
you have done a fine job with the form itself here
thank you for your patience to my lack of prompt judgement on this contest
thank you for your entry too
