Mouths moving a mile a minute,
The hallway, a highway of noise,
All I see is her standing there.
She stands there her beautiful brown hair,
Falls down her back,
Like a waterfall of silk.
She looks my direction,
And smiles,
I smile back.
The noise dissolves in the background,
As though it were ballroom music.
She stands there in a plain white t-shirt,
That’s all she needs.
Emotions flood my system,
Confusion, anxiety, fear, hope, joy, love.
I don’t know what to do.
My heart takes flight,
Her smile is enough to win me over.
Her pearly white gems perfectly aligned.
The bell shatters the moment,
She looks to me and waves.
I wave back, and walk to class.
I am late.
