but I had already filled up on thirteen croissants, and twelve well-baked, toasty delectable buns;

A mighty ocean with Neptune atop a typhoon, his trident raised high (my spoon in the goop)
flailing all before him, whether cannoned or gunned, clashing with mortals (the fool-hearty ones)

The krakens and hydra and fishwives who nagged were blown away by Zephyrs whose violence took root;
with trident aglow I hunted new foe... when a mermaid appeared, too lovely, too young;

On the waves of a phalanx that drove ahead troops toward battle and chaos ‘round the mermaid’s new sloop
that raced through warships, battle formations flung from the depths of trenches formed before hell hath begun;

The mythic gods raged, my carrots and potatoes engaged the tomatoes and celery shoots;
the ocean heaved, ship bells rung, their cannons shot true, great god-clouds sung;
and so my mind drifted off, my appetite full, while I played with the fare 'til my hunger regrouped.
The heroes are immortals now, they’ve journeyed the loop from Earth back to Heaven via Guadeloupe
thus bringing an end to my fabled regale with one very big mess from this restaurant fun;
