Lets tease the abyss,
dangle my toes over the ledge.
How far can I go before it swallows me?
The air grows thin,
the ground crumbles,
there's nothing left to hold
but im not letting go yet.
I may be about to fall.
but i haven't fallen yet.
I might be headed for a breakdown,
but I haven't shatter yet.
I may just lose it all
but not yet.
Not yet
Chilly stillness
Its the deep breath before the plunge,
and then the calm thrill
of dropping through nothingness,
before smashing rock bottom.
Inward cynic, mocking voice.
Give it up, give it up, give it up.
Give up?
Not yet, not ever, no never.
This may be the death of me,
but giving up just feels like suicide.
Im not dying yet.
I may be about to fall.
but i haven't fallen yet.
I might be headed for a breakdown,
but I haven't shatter yet.
I may just lose it all
but not yet.
Not yet
Not yet.

What was this about? I don't remember you being emo this summer, even a little bit. It's good, the format of the stanzas even look like a downward spiral that makes the poem fun to read. I enjoyed it.
