The light of the sun stuck in your throat
finds it's way out of the gaps in your smile.
It falls on my thousand teardrops
and they throw prisms on the chipping paint.
As our star peppered gazes meet
I wait for our dreams to fly out
into the oxygen we breathe so greedily.
Words you whisper hoarsely fall into the sky.
They tumble throught the blue and sink into my skin.
You stay up past the blackness of midnight
just to tell me through watery and exhausted eyes
that you love me with every atom of your being.
Others cringe and wince at the fireworks shooting
from our lips and eyes. They laugh
doubting we have even the smallest chance of forever.
Well, our love isn't printed in black and white.
It's typed in shades and hues only our four eyes can see.
Lets wind our living hands in and around eachother.
Baby, grab a map, bite down on the sun,
and lets fly around the globe as many times as we like.
