Season Story

The bright sun shone down on us
Touching every petal of every flower
A few white clouds drifted through the blue sky
And granted us a light summer shower

Sales for school supplies started
We watched as the leaves floated down
A serene autumn breeze blew them away
Coloring the wind red, gold, and brown

The temperature dropped; we put on our coats
Slowly the snow on the ground started to stick
We stuck out our tongues to catch the snowflakes
They touched our heat and melted very quick

Then warmth started to increase
Birds returned and began to sing
The winter snow had melted away
To reveal a beautiful spring

A wonderful picture you painted with words. The seasonal cycle captured in brief poetic thoughts. Excellent.

    Take Four

Atypical order except in so far as this poem was effectively written in August, thus conserving a certain logic however the seasons should be self explanatory without necessarily appearing directly outside the notes .

Words should be respected and overpopulating a poem is natural at 11 though as time goes on you will doubtless revise

The bright sun shone down on us
Touching every petal of every flower
A few white clouds drifted through the blue sky
And granted us a light summer shower

    Bright sun shone down,
    drenched every flower,
    clouds cotten, blue sky,
    then light shower.

Wonderful! You can see there is more to the seasons than just weather. I love how you made it rhyme! (I don't think I spelled that right...)
