But hiding won't make problems go away
Shut your eyes tight and shed a tear
But nothing makes the bad things disappear.
Though you confess, you wish it would...
Stick your head deep in the sand
Oh, as far as you possibly can
It only makes you weaker
Then it will make your future bleaker.
Oh if you only understood.
You're more than meets the eye. (So much more)
You're stronger than they give you credit for
You're better for having been tried
They underestimated you before
And they would take away your pride.
And your confidence if they could...
If you persuade them and you aid them
And you let them have your soul
You're little more than a blinded whore
And you will never be whole.
Oh if you only understood.
You're more than meets the eye. (So much more)
So you'll take the problems with the answers
And then solve as many as you can
And with the opportunity
Choose to take them all head-on
Gather your defenses
Fight them one by one
Pick your battles
Victory
Is yours
Live.
Author notes
Written the evening of July 12, 2009 out of nowhere, as my first poem in over a year! (Which is crazy for me) and apparently, as it blindsided me more like it had created itself in my mind rather than me writing it-it was actually as if I were writing not my own thoughts, but those of my best friend who is over 500 miles away, and I had no idea what was going on. A bit crazy, I know, but still interesting. So here goes nothing.
Please tell me what you think

I liked this write it shows hope where some would think there is none.
If we don't fight our own battles and let ppl trample all over us, then we might as well not even try to be strong.
Great write
