My anguish, so fierce.
engulfs your sanctuary
with unholy flames.
The burning church,
a beacon in the night.
To bring forth the end times.
As the church burns,
I growl ancient curses.
I scream into the darkness.
Your holy cross shatters.
I am the misanthrope.
I know now my fate...
Is to wander the earth,
erasing the errors of our kind.
As the church burns,
I howl infernal blasphemies.
I stare into the flames.
Wishing for my death,
and the death of all.
I face the distant horizon,
My features ashen and grim.
Your world will fall.

I can really hear this going with a black metal song from Mayhem, Marduk, Immortal etc..
The images are simple yet so powerful in this one.
Nice job!

I've always loved the gothic poetry...dark and obscure...coz I think that there's a dark side in each one of us. It feels like a rebellion against the human kind...which is often so cruel and selfish...we do mistakes for which we should be punished and ur poem is kind of a warning to all of us...or at least that's what I felt while I was reading it...

What's the band this reminds me of?! In Norway I think...burned all those churches. The media was going crazy and was throwing COF around like they had something to do with it. Anyway, this is a great poem, misanthropic and apocalyptic.
