God, why…

“Hi…um….can you hear me?”

“Yes dear, you want to ask a question, don’t you?”

“How, did you know that, oh, I forgot I was talking to god…!  Well first tell me, why did you answer my prayers, there must be many out there right? Praying and asking?”

“Yes there are many who ask and pray and not to mention those who are ranting and blaming, but there are few who request, fewer still who request with a heart as innocent as yours, and more than that you request not for yourself, you pray for someone else, there is no selfishness in the question in your mind, go ahead son, ask, I will answer all I can…”

“But you already know it?”

“Yes, I do, but still ask, I wish to hear you phrase it…!”

“God, the question is simple, why did you make hatred in the world you have made? Why did you make suffering, why did you make grief? I have heard you are kind and nice then why did you not make everyone like yourself, good and kindhearted?”

“Ah…brilliant son. Brilliant indeed! You are wise beyond your years! Well, let me ask you one thing, why do you want anything, say a the answer for this question?”

“Because I don’t have it…”

“Exactly. That’s why I created hatred in the world, so people would want more love, because someone will not have it…as only then they will want it! Sometimes when you want to do some good you first need to show what’s bad. Only then the price of the good is truly understood.”
“But is it not unfair? Those who live unloved. They live a sad life, how can you not feel bad for them?”

“Yes, I feel sad. But such souls spread love as they know what life is without it.”

“And what of the victims of hatred? What of those who die due to cruelty of fate?”

“I need them as angels to spread love on earth, I give them freedom from the bondages on earth, and I offer them eternal satisfaction. Isn’t that worth it, worth all the pain endured on earth?”

“God, but what of those who feel sad for the victims, people like me?”

“You should feel sad son, that’s the whole idea isn’t it? Now you know the worth and need of love and care. I wish all will love and care, I want you to love and care and I want you to be loved and cared…”

Author notes

If you have checked the contest this for and seen the heartwrenching video this contest is based on then you will understand what I am writing after this,
I have imagined myself as the small boy in the video and the small boy is asking the god in himself about the need of hatred in the world, I could have very well made it archaic but I wanted it to be as a conversation of a small boy with his conscience or with the god within himself, I know this sounds a little childish but coming from a child of around seven its correct....

people, in my eagerness or systems fault this poem wasnt added to the contest it had meant to be...

Thank you, for mentioning my contest. I wish this had made it. I loved what you have written here. Your words fit the video and the pain that is felt within my heart each and every time I see that video. Again, thank you for this.

    Fabuloso!!!

I love this!! I don't know that I would call it a poem exactly, but it's a beautiful message, and a heart-warming piece of art. I have never thought of things in this way before and I'm delighted that you shared your thoughts with the AP community. Very well written! I would applaud thee numerous times over, but as you have previously stated.. the system only allows once.. Once again, excellent write!!

Love the one on one conversation with God, He knows before we ask Him, but we sure have a lot to ask and need understanding and wisdom...and He allows those questions. Well done, son, Blessings.
