Odyssey of a First Glance

As I'm drawn from the ionosphere,
curious about the face I dreamed of,
It was written in the Pacific storms.
As if the Earth herself were bowing to the beauty of her creation.

As I approach for a landing,
The azure ocean growing ever larger,
Infinitely more beautiful with each passing inch.
Not until I dive past the surface do I realize it's your eyes.

I feel lost beneath the waves,
Unable to contain my fear any further,
I've drowned in eyes before,
But the moon's sighs of jealousy bring me to salvation.

I'm laid to rest upon the ivory shore,
Of a smooth, unbroken beach,
Lost in the white sands of your skin,
Desiring only to lay my lips upon this porcelain plage de l'amour.

The music of your voice,
Like the sirens of Ulysses' curse,
A delicate balance of pain and passion
Like the sound the sun must make just before his timid rise.

I follow the trail of music,
It leads me to your heart,
Barred with scars of a past devotion,
I only hope the doors to this Paradise shall open once more.

The language flows very smooth, this poem is absolutely beautiful. I like that you took a line considered cliche and made it unique and nice to hear. This is possibly one of the most natural seeming love poems I've ever read, it's not forced, or boring, or overly sappy; it's like music, just beautiful.
