Within the mind, a bolted door
Stands against a raging war
Of love and hate, and lonely pain
Cleansing thought and crimson stain
From victims of the war within
Loving heart though full of sin
Broken healing, left to rot
Aching of a heart forgot
By the world within the glass
Lesson untaught in the class
Trusting none will lead to end
Though hurting brings them back again
Be careful, love, of whom you choose
To step inside your weary shoes
For they may stumble, trip, and fall
From any pain they feel at all
What I've learned can bear repeating
To keep the weakened from retreating
Only one has strength to make it through
The maze of pain. My friend, it's you
Author notes
Yes. A poetry.com entry. I am so pissed at that site. So I'm re-writing my old poems posted there onto this site so I can get some REAL reviews.
