but i've seen you before
in a place so dark and senseless
with a needle to your arm
and skin that's just to thin
cracking under the brilliant gaze
of a burnt out old fluorescent
and sinking farther down
into a mattress of cardboard and print
you sought an old familiar feeling
to save you from the pain
do you even remember now
what it is that hurts
when even your veins protest
to you prodding them and seeking
the entrance to oblivion
that wont last out the day
your sun last rose long ago
on a life just then beginning
ended by the needle
that now sits in your hand

Good effort. I can relate to this on a personal level(family issue) it's good to read stuff that triggers all sorts of emotions, good work.
