In this world of love and hate
There is a dictating being
To what we can say,
To how we can feel.
The dictionary tells
The emotions,
Fear, Anger,
Love, and Lust.
It speaks
Of how we must use
The wonderful words
The only ways we can
Communicate
We humans cannot
Compare ourselves
Without a piece of paper
To tell us what we can say
The world of words,
The people controlled
And manipulated through
Simple Text
A dictionary.

My prompt for this contest was the word dictionary, I tried my hardest to put it to good use

FINALLY JUDGED!
-Rubric-
Rules: 2/2
Prompt: 1/1
Spelling/Grammar: 4/4
Organization/Visibility: 3/3
Creativity: 4.5/5
WOW factor: 7/10
TOTAL: 21.5
A bit confusing in places I find. The direction you took with the prompt is interesting and not as literal as I was perhaps expecting. Perhaps I don't totally agree with the 4th stanza. Many people can say what they mean. Others can show it physically and then there are us poets who need words to say what we mean. I wouldn't have capitalized every line ( it is creative freedom though. I shouldn't complain) Overall pretty well penned.
Thanks so much for entering
and thanks so much for your patience with the judging process.
All the best of luck

very enjoyable
this piece of work is outstanding, you have awesome talent, well done friend.
p.s. wishing you the greatest success in the contest. -
Words are far more powerful than most people realize, and I'm very glad that you do. "Actions speak louder than words" is completely untrue. It depends, very much so, on the person and what exactly they are doing or saying. Your interpretation of the prompt was very good.
