Summer Air

When I can't breathe
The summer air is far too thick
Heart caught in my throat
Summer is when love comes to an end.

I welcome the chilled air of the winter
The death shrouding every inhale
Voice hanging heavy before blue lips
Wind that burns my skin and lungs.

A heart that melts the ice
Gives way to a wondrous spring
Where I'm sure to fall in love again
Outside of the Autumn affairs.

Author notes

Written on the beach in the sweltering heat. Kind of reflects me, hm?

"Summer is when love comes to an end." such a sad concept.

It's great. I especially like the last stanza... well done.
