i don't remember if i've ever given you the impression
that i'm ready to stand on unstable legs and shout from the rooftops that your imperfections made me love you from the start. i don't have the courage to write you songs about how i used to see you tear girls apart and shove your secrets down their throats. and i'll never forget how you pressed your fingers tightly against my spinal cord
and made me stand up straight and see you for what you were
scared
it's not possible for me to catch you every time you feel gravity weighing
down on your competence, i don't have the strength to pump you full of the imagination you use to create with your hands when you were sad; i'm only learning how your face contorts when nothing goes the way you planned. but i've noticed that you spin lies faster than old school records and your eyes seem to lose track of time and fade out from reality.

i've come to realize that you melt and that when i force fed you dreams of hope you couldn't do anything but choke and i did nothing but watch you ruin yet another good moment. i can no longer terrorize your thoughts and make you believe in things such as love, destiny, and aspirations. but your excuses are filled with holes
and darling your bullshit is shining through them.
time starts to s l o w d o w n.
and your patterns are predictable and you're forcing people to tear the skin off because your imperfections show through their skin.
no one was like this before you came along.
