They say it can change you
Turn your life upside down
Destroy your relationships
Dreams
Hope
Life
They don't know the pull it has
The way it changes everything you see
With each hit, memories fade away
Dispersing from your mind, leaving it as blank as a canvas
Pain is no longer there
You can't feel your brother molesting you
You can't feel your dad punch you
You can't feel your innocence being ripped from you
You can't feel the blade kissing your arm
You
Can't
Feel
A
Thing
It cradles you in it's white powdery arms
Putting your mind at ease, one snort at a time
It drags you from your depression, lifting your spirits
Letting your forget about reality
You
Feel
Invincible
No
One
Can
Stop
You
The truth is it kills you
Slowly but surely it starts to destroy you
It has you hooked like a fish
And
You
Can't
Get
Away
Author notes
I'm a recovering drug addict. Cocaine was my drug of choice and it was the hardest to kick. I have 8 months and 3 days sober and I feel better then I ever have before.

you did a great job with this piece and how you set it up. you did a stunning job showing your life in words. my only suggestion is when you say dreams hope life maybe pluralize hope to hopes? either way great work
