Laughter filled the awkward space
The laptop continued to play
Time around us failed to pause
Despite the moment created between
My fingers tousled his hair
The laughter slowly died
Our eyes turned to meet
We knew what we felt
The silence replaced the giggles
Anime still playing in the background
His hair still tangled in my grasp
Our faces only an inch apart
Our breathing slowed as we thought
Registering the pros and cons
To kiss or not to kiss?
That was the shared question
His touch, a forgotten feeling for weeks
My adrenaline could not hold back
No longer was my heart's gates locked
But cracked open, and leaked my love
My lips met his, his that were waiting
No walls present, the feeling felt free
As if nothing changed or altered
The kiss felt...right.
Longer than expected the moment lasted
His hand caressed my cheek
His fingers tangled in my long hair
Our love was mutual, shared
Though the moment was spontaneous
It felt safe, pure, and real
Despite the many decisions faced
That one shared kiss, gave me hope.
