dry
like leaves fallen from trees
detached from
nourishing source
agitated
as wild lion caged in a box
caught confined
from freedom once known
melancholy
being driven madly insane
rushed out of reality
exchanging truth for lies
discontent
desert desiring water
void of peace and joy
in separated isolation
alone
a heart encased in a wall
protecting what was vulnerable when held outside
wounded, broken, mending
fragile
glass falling down ready to shatter
upon soft ground suddenly hardened
cracked, marred, transparent
Author notes
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah - Psalm 32:4
