my mind shattered like so much glass
dashed upon the ground
memories caught in reflection
twisting and bending the images round
each shard breaking again and again
each time they struck the earth
reflecting more images
(and warping them too)
cheap as my own life’s worth
do I gather the pieces
these scattered debris
these jagged containers
of cruel memory?
Do I leave them behind
leave them to fade
in the growing of darkness
and the gathering shade?
Or do I remain
forever indecisive
daring not a step
either way
awaiting some signal
some sign or some sigul
some THING to show me the way
I think I thought
to sort them out
and learn from misery
instead I let my blood flow out
cut on the edge
(the razor sharp edge)
the edge of memory

Wow, what to say... Filled with emotion, as always, a hurricane inside of you, very well expressed. The contradicting emotions and feelings and thought. I loved the way you express this...

Wow...
(bows and smiles)
This was very well written. I liked how it went from freverse to rhyme to freeverse again. The end was beautiful and terribly sad, something that plays well with my taste. Beautifully penned, sir.

Dropped by to visit and feel much rewarded by being here with you on your porch swing. Even with the gnats, you are a big comfort to my soul. Reading your poetry... even if your poems were the only ones on the site, is well worth the membership price.
