Waking up to laughing at dawn;
The boy is two and the other is one.
He hits his little brother;
I tell him you don't hurt each other.
I say I love you boy;
He looked up and asked why;
He didn't think I did;
I thought I would cry.
Open the freezer; grab ice cream;
Out of nowhere, "mommy!" I hear him scream.
I look down and smile,
I see how he looks me in the eye,
How my heart melted,
I thought I would cry.
Sit side by side, his hand in mine,
He changed my life, and today I didn't cry.
