Ashes, Ashes, We all Fall Down

I am that new shade of fear
Clinging to his spine
With Chalkboard screeching nails
And a love that’s lost its shine

That girl that holds on
When he begins to let go
I am love with a broken heart
And I always stoop this low

And when he pulls out his matches
And lights my eyes on fire
The vivid flames inside
Only rise higher

Because nothing can stop
The love I hold within
Even whenever the fire
Eats away my skin

I only live a lie
My heart is only an illusion
I’m alone
Clenching my fists around seclusion

Trying desperately to grasp
What is left of my insides
As the ashes of what we were
Begin to slowly divide

...I sit here today holding onto this frown
Knowing how we never had a chance to rise
And Whenever gravity pulls our ashes down
Our souls remain below the skies.
