I felt the breath of your essence,
the smooth, soft caress
of your body against mine.
The look in your eyes was real.
Night Turn to dawn,
morning smiles and an embrace
were welcomed with delightful anticipation.
Goodbyes were said
and for that moment,
completion was fulfilled.
The afternoon came and went
by evening, apprehension
had sent in,
a familiar feeling had set in.
Like a forgotten child,
like a child witnessing
the death of his dog,
the call never came
the truth once again
had bit me in the ass
and gnawed on my mind.
"Forgotten" echoed constantly
matching the intensity of
the sadness of this yearning heart.
