blowhole.

blow-hole--
are you spitting
in the wind?

Author notes

At Boscastle, when the tide is at the right height, a cave fills with the surge of water. This causes a mixture of air and sea water to be ejected in a guiser fashion.

can remember one of these at a beach from my childhood
we used to think it had magical powers
sometimes, i think we were correct.
another beautiful one - with a twist.

Yup - I was in the majority thinking of the Whale. Powerful creatures, but I was pleasantly surprised to realize it wasn't that at all. Something different I hadn't thought about

Hey i was thinking Whale... But you know we have one of these as well.. They call it the devil's punchbowl... It is on the Oregon Coast and expecially when the tide is coming in it can be magnificent other wise it seems a hole in the ground... Thanks for the explaination as well as the picture..Susan

is that supposed to be spiting as in to spite someone or spitting as in to... spit?

Haiku. was never any good at them but yeah this one got some kinda message accross and even a moral as we all know you should never spit into the wind...

even though.. you could mean spite. Hum that changes everything. but doesn't really make so much sense.
