So young, so sweet was my best friend.
Just a twelve year old girl with problems of her own.
I heard her screams and told everyone but everyone told me to mind my own business.
So young, so sweet is my guardian angel.
Now, I'm a cop stopping the child abuse.
Just so another child doesn't have to be someone's guardian angel.

It's hard to know something bad is going on but to told not to interfere. No wonder a memory like that was the catalyst for the poem's heroine. To help others is the greatest thing we can do for mankind.
