On a beautiful, clear and starlit night
They walked by the light of the moon.
Enjoying each other as they strolled
With no thought of what may loom.
Hand in hand they walked along
The darkened path that night,
Lit only by the glow of the moon
And stars that shown so bright.
Peace and tranquility they each found
In the company of their friend.
And they walked along in silence
Facing together the gentle wind.
Under stars so bright and shinny
Making romantic the sky above,
Two humble hearts had joined
And found each others love.
Then the starlit night was ended
By the beginning of a day.
The sun arose in wondrous glows
And took the stars away.
The sunlight now is shinning
On these two lovers fair,
To find each one abiding
And in the others care.
The path they walked was rocky
In some places along their way.
Stumbling, then regaining step,
They continued through the day.
Many days and starlit nights
Have been and now are past.
And still they walk together
Through all life’s stormy blasts.
It seems it’s been a lifetime
Since the two of them had met.
Through good, bad, happy and sad,
And they are together yet.
Then on another starlit night
Walked two by the light of the moon.
Enjoying each other as they strolled
With no thought of what may loom.
They walked along a pathway that
Had been trod many times before,
Their story now is much the same
As the long forgotten lore.
Their romantic, beautiful, starlit night
Had suddenly come to an end,
As the sun broke through the darkness
Another wonderful day to begin.
Now many days and starlit nights
Have been and now are past.
And many have walked together
Through all life’s stormy blasts.
The path will always be rocky
In places along life’s way.
They’ll stumble, and regain their step
And continue through their day.
So the pathway continually traveled,
The starlight still sets the moods.
Lovers may change but still the same
Are these romantic interludes.

A beautiful poem my friend. Right from your heart. Even in old age sometimes a couple may stumble, but the most beautiful thing is they never fall. My heat rejoices when I read about a Silver or Golden wedding celebration. God bless you and thank you for sharing your beautiful poem.

Sometimes a couple may stumble is an understatement. It is so nice though that life comes with a set of directions. If we would read and go by them, maybe our journey would be much sweeter. Thank you for your comment Katie, I appreciate you very much. You have been a blessing to me.
