we walked on the moonlight
crossing cold shadows of darkness
crickets chilling our simple lives
with a thin coat of october
blades of grass cut
against wandering stones
of black silenced sunlight
our feet above clouds of crazy
embracing the pale mouth of winter
i drift into the flame of you
and fly with hawks and crows
just below the stairway to midnight
Author notes
inspired by several of Patsy Cline's classics

it says a lot when it makes me want to sing.. "I stopped to see a whipping willow, crying on it's pillow"
I loved it. But then not many of yours I've read that I didn't love or like. lol
hope you are well..

I love Patsy Cline, I love the song,
and I really really love this piece...
"just below the stairway to midnight"
what a perfect ending to this beauty
