~~Elusive Dreams~~

Missing image
Soft and beckoning shadows
In shades of pale moonlight,
The caress of gentle darkness
A gentle touch in the night

The soothing hands of slumber
Will touch a troubled brow,
And wipe away all sadness
That is the sandman's vow

So safe and warm in darkness
There in the velvet night,
Bathed in golden moonbeams
Caressed by soft star light

For sleep will soothe a troubled soul
And wipe away all fears,
Let the healing hands of dreams
Dry up the lonely tears

The tender kiss of an early dawn
There in the morning light,
For only memories will remain
Of elusive dreams in the night

    What a joy to read.

It is written somewhere that Joy Comes in the Morning.  If we can just make it through the night. The rhythm and rhyme of this poem are superb. I really enjoyed it.

This poem is so beautiful and peaceful. Could be a magical lullaby soothing one to sleep. Yes sometimes we escape into the dream world to be with those we miss and when we wake up we want to go back to sleep again to bring back the magic and comfort. That's where I want to be. Resting in the peace of the night. I love nigh time. It is peaceful under the moonlight and stars. You created that same tranquility with this piece.
My only critique is the use of gentle twice in the first stanza. I think it would be better if a synonym was chosen for one.
