Just A Girl That's A Mess

The sun's rays are shining through my window,
And I hear the birds sing, they sing a song of sorrow
About a girl that has lost herself in love
By a boy who had no intentions on staying.

I've been beaten down, I've been deranged
I've been delusional, I haven't been the same
My reflection tells me that I've seen better days,
But days are passing, and I'm getting used to this face.

No amount of make up can hide the pain,
My face has everything out in the open
I've been left, I'm second best
By a girl that's better at this game.

Love is a battlefield, love is a game
One that I no longer have intentions on playing.
Why can't it be so much more simple?
Life has given me reasons to back away

I give no second chances,
My heart cannot take the knives
My hearts been stabbed
By a boy who changed his mind.

I sing this song, louder then ever
I sing about my troubles, and I sing about about my pain
I hide in my room with no intentions on trying
And I carry on with a blank face

    Nice take on the prompt!

"The sun's rays are shining through my window,
And I hear the birds sing, they sing a song of sorrow
About a girl that has lost herself in love
By a boy who had no intentions on staying."

A strong way to start this piece off. I enjoyed that.

    "My hearts been stabbed
By a boy who changed his mind."

Lovely line. It was my favorite line. Thank you for entering and good luck!
