I'm no diamond
I'm not so tough that I can't be broken
I'm not so beautiful that I can't be tossed away
I'm not so precious that I can't come free

I'm just that stone from the playground
Rough and cracked
trampled on
dusty and ugly
but nevertheless, always there

I'll wait here beneath your shoe
watching the children play their games
Go on and find your diamonds
